Holly Miranda

Singer/guitarist in The Jealous Girlfriends born in Detroit and raised somewhere between Michigan and Tennessee. Holly Miranda was never the kind of girl to do one thing at a time. Singer and guitarist for "experimental/indie/rock" band, The Jealous Girlfriends, she also performs as a solo act. A self-taught guitar and trumpet player, she formed TJG in the autumn of 2003 with Alex Lipsen (producer/keyboardist). By 2005 the band had become a four piece with a taste for dangerous experimentation. This new line up produced a self-titled second album that was louder, nosier and totally fearless. This fall TJG are touring with The Wedding Present in the US and in addition, Holly is due to release her first "official" record as a solo artist next spring. Produced by Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio) and Katrina Ford (Celebration), "The Magicians Private Library" combines an eclectic array of influences from Jeff Buckley to Tool via Edith Piaf and Nina Simone. This record promises to be a diamond in the rough for 2009.
